Schistosomes are parasites that cause disease primarily in tropical and developing countries. The impact of this disease is felt by 100’s of millions of people.

Assays were developed to test the function of 3 enzymes that are known to be essential for Schistisome survival with the goal of using these assays to test drugs as potential treatments for Schistosomiasis.

An Omega Series was used to detect the colorimetric assays that are shown within. Identical technology is available in the CLARIOstar, PHERAstar FSX and SPECTROstar Nano plate readers.
